Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the European Society of Neuroradiology, I would like to invite you warmly to the 33rd Congress and 17th Advanced Course of the ESNR, which will be held in Cracow, 18-21 September, 2008. It is the first time the Congress and Advanced Course of ESNR is organized in Poland. I would like to thank very much the Board of the Society for positive attitude to our application. I think it shows the growing role of Polish neuroradiology and, more widely, the integration of the former communistic countries to Europe in the field of science.
The Congress and Advanced Course will be held in Cracow, but I would like to emphasize, that it is prepared by the neuroradiologists from different cities of Poland. I work in Wroclaw, and the other members of local scientific organizing committees are from Warszawa, Cracow, Lublin and Poznan.
The structure of the meeting in Cracow will be similar to the previous Congresses and Advanced Courses of the ESNR. For the topic of the Advanced Course we chose ”Intracranial tumours – from morphology to molecular imaging”. The Course will contain up-to-date knowledge of imaging of the brain tumours, including the most advanced imaging techniques. The Congress, as in previous years, will cover all the current neuroradiological topics, concerning both diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology. Apart from scientific sessions we plan plenar State-of-the Art Lectures devoted to the most important topics in neuroradiology and film reading session moderated by experts in which several interesting cases will be discussed. Refresher Courses on the main neuroradiological topics, conducted by the experts in particular fields, will be provided every morning of the Congress. Finally, traditional poster exhibition will be presented in the Congress Venue.
The Congress and Advanced Course will be hosted by Cracow, a fascinating place, former capital of Poland, which joins the atmosphere of an old medievial city with that of a lively touristic centre, nowadays one of the most popular among the tourists from all over Europe. I hope you will enjoy this exceptional city.
The Congress Venue will be the recently built Auditorium Maximum of the Jagiellonian Univeristy, one of the oldest in Europe (founded in 1364). Situated in the very centre of Cracow, it contains several big lecture halls and large space for technical and poster exhibitions.
I believe that organizing the Congress and Advanced Course in Poland will result in much greater attendance of Polish neuroradiologists, radiologists, neurologists and neurosurgerons, as well as the colleagues from the neighbouring countries like Ukraine, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Again, I invite all of you very warmly to Cracow.
